BRAVING THE WILD

I set out into the wild for some time to create this series. Born and raised in a hyperactive city and a society where you’re constantly being told you’re not enough or you don’t have enough. I began as a visitor in nature; I initially felt out of place. As days went by things began to change. I felt as I was no longer just an observer or a visitor, I became apart of her. Nature became my mirror, my source of inspiration, my peace, my adventure, a teacher, a home, a companion. 

In the wild I discovered an endless source of energy and movement. I set out to capture her raging rivers, serene vibrations and transformative energy.

My paintings in this series are abstract expressions of those experiences. The beauty of nature can have a profound effect upon our psychology and senses, it opens gateways from the outer world to the inner.
